you forget how much you miss your family and you forget how much they miss you too...
you forget how much your family meant for you and how much you meant for them...
perhaps it was particularly this past weekend due to the father's day events with the family.
i thought about parenting quite a bit lately... mostly my parents' and parents in my family's parenting...
at the lunch with little uncle last sunday, the topics were mostly surrounding the kids...
about how they worry for the educations, the grades, the schools, the careers, the marriages...
uncle said, in Taiwanese "to raise a kid" is to take care of the kid from birth til the kid marries...
uncle has seen his daughter accepted into grad school in germany and now he's focusing on her marriage while laying the works to pave a way for her to return once she finishes school.
he done all this for both of his children all on his own... my aunt passed away when we were still little kids...
that is a lot of dedication.

i am regretting not taking any photos at lunch... uncle knows all the tastiest restaurants and the japanese restaurant we went to was simply one of the best i had.
